Coated Vicryl® Sutures Size 3-0 | 18” | PS-2 | 3/8 Circle Undyed
Ethicon
The J497G Coated VICRYL® Sutures are high-performance, synthetic, absorbable surgical sutures designed for use in a variety of general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation procedures, including ophthalmic surgery. Manufactured by Ethicon, a trusted name in surgical sutures, these sutures provide consistent and reliable performance.
Material: These sutures are made from Polyglactin 910, a copolymer composed of 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide. This material is known for its excellent tensile strength and predictable absorption profile. The suture is coated with a proprietary blend of Polyglactin 370 and calcium stearate, which ensures smooth passage through tissue and reliable knot placement.
Key Features:
- Absorbable: Coated VICRYL® Sutures are designed to be absorbed by the body over time, eliminating the need for suture removal. The absorption profile typically completes between 56 to 70 days post-implantation.
- Tensile Strength: The sutures retain approximately 75% of their original tensile strength at two weeks and around 50% at three weeks, providing sufficient support during the critical wound healing period.
- Coated for Smooth Passage: The coating reduces tissue drag and enhances knot security, making the sutures easier to handle and use, especially in delicate surgical procedures.
- Precision-Engineered Needles: The PS-2 needle, known for its sharpness and strength, is specifically designed for plastic surgery applications. The 3/8 circle shape allows for precise placement and ease of use in confined spaces.
- Sterile and Ready to Use: Each suture is sterilized and packaged in an easy-to-open, sterile pack, ensuring safety and convenience during surgical procedures.
Applications: The J497G Coated VICRYL® Sutures are versatile and suitable for various surgical applications, including:
- General soft tissue approximation
- Ligature procedures
- Ophthalmic surgery
- Plastic and reconstructive surgery
- Gynecological procedures
