Rapicide™ OPA/28 RTU Disinfectant Solution is a ready-to-use, high-level disinfectant specifically formulated for the reprocessing of heat-sensitive, semi-critical medical devices. Its active ingredient is 0.575% ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA), which ensures effective microbial inactivation.
Key Features:
- Rapid Disinfection: Achieves high-level disinfection in just 5 minutes at 77°F (25°C) or 10 minutes at room temperature (minimum 68°F or 20°C).
- Extended Reuse Period: Offers a reuse life of up to 28 days, doubling the duration of many other OPA-based disinfectants.
- Versatile Application: Suitable for both manual and automated endoscope reprocessing, providing flexibility in various clinical settings.
- Material Compatibility: Non-corrosive to metal instruments and compatible with a wide range of medical device materials, ensuring the longevity and integrity of equipment.
- User-Friendly: The solution is ready-to-use without the need for mixing or activation, simplifying the disinfection process.
Usage Guidelines:
- Disinfection Process: Immerse the medical device completely in the Rapicide™ OPA/28 solution, ensuring all surfaces are in contact with the disinfectant.
- Contact Time: Maintain a contact time of 5 minutes at 77°F (25°C) or 10 minutes at room temperature (minimum 68°F or 20°C) to achieve high-level disinfection.
- Rinsing: After the disinfection period, thoroughly rinse the device with sterile or potable water to remove any residual disinfectant.
- Reuse Monitoring: Utilize Rapicide™ OPA/28 Test Strips to verify that the solution's concentration remains above the minimum recommended concentration (MRC) of 0.35% OPA before each use.
Safety and Handling:
- Protective Measures: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, gowns, and eye protection, when handling the disinfectant.
- Storage: Store the solution in its original container at controlled room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
